pecan smoked chicken shindig
we smoked some chicken tonight at my friends house. i really hope i dont have
Salmonella
poisoning. i dont think we cooked it long enough but it tasted good. we smoked it with branches from my friend's "across the street" neighbor's pecan tree. that consisted of going in their yard and climbing a ladder with a saw and cut a huge branch off. at first we did the wood of the branches then we said "it needs more smoke" so we did the leaves too. his dad was giving us tips over the phone while we were in the process of smoking the chicken and his dad said "whatever you do, dont use the leaves they burn to hot and the ashes will fly all over the food." too late. we ended up catching the grass under the smoking pit on fire b/c we had the fire so hot. the skin on the chiken was pretty charred but not to shaby...still able to be eaten. his french roomate baked a cake from scratch and i cooked the french bread. it was a good meal. so if i die...who wants dibs on my ipod and radio?

you climbed up the tree and cut a branch off with a saw? Ask Scott or Justin how to get wood for burning the cajun way!
